THE weather led to contrasting fortunes for two sides in the Crow area on Saturday.

Cokenach collected the Cambridgeshire Junior League Division 2SA following the abandonment of their game at Babraham.

With poor weather forecast, the game was unlikely to be played. This proved to be the case with Babraham cancelling the game.

This meant Cokenach were champions despite second-placed Thurlow beating Weston Colville in a reduced over game.

Cokenach maintained first place by 0.04 points.

Meanwhile, Royston must wait another week to secure their place in the Tucker Gardner League Division Two.

For the second successive week, the wicket at Therfield was too wet to start the game, leading to their match against Khalsa being abandoned.

They go into their final game of the season at Waresley, knowing that victory ensure they avoid a second successive relegation.

If they fail to win, they will be hoping that Burghley Park fail to win their game at Castor & Ailsworth.

Royston are currently eight points clear of Burghley at the foot of the table.

Skipper Adam Newman misses his first game for four years, leaving Richard Temple in charge.

Newman is one of five key players unavailable, as Royston seek their fourth win of the season.
