The first meet was cancelled after a member of the public died in the pool the day before the gala. Half of Royston's squad pulled out of the second meeting after being struck down by a flu bug. Three girls - Christina Branch and Jessica and Eleanor Earp - will race in the under-17 event at the Eastern Region Qualifying contest at Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire, on Sunday. The club organise an annual triathlon and coaches hope that more youngsters will develop an interest in multi-event races.
