Buntingford Cougars Whites 2 Stevenage Boro Stripes 0
THE Cougars put in a splendid display to beat the Stevenage Stripes, who were undefeated before this encounter.
A 10th minute penalty, slotted nicely to the Stevenage keeper's left by Callum Norton, was all that separated the teams in a keenly fought first-half.
In the second-half both teams maintained the same commitment, but luck was in for the home team when, after 15 minutes, in among a mass of legs and bodies in the six yard box, the ball somehow crossed the line and Cougars went further ahead.
Stevenage pressed hard to get on the scoresheet, with one of their shots rattling the crossbar, but Cougars' defence held firm.
Cougars nearly scored a third late on, but Jack Bowden's shot was well saved by the keeper.
