THE inaugural golf match for The Pheasant and The Red Cow Shield between Chrishall and Great Chishill was played at Barkway Park on Thursday afternoon.
The match was played between six pairs from each village, with Chrishall winning by four-and-a-half to one-and-a-half.
Great Chishill captain Mark Wright presented the winners' shield to Bill Rodda (the Chrishall captain).
He said: "It was an excellent day had by all, and everyone is looking forward to next year's rematch.
