FRIDAY 13 proved a lucky day for eight-year-old Harry Lee, with the Royston Tennis Club mini-member winning the Berkhampsted Tennis Club’s mini red tennis competition.

Harry played on top form to win all five of his matches and in a closely-fought final scored 10-7 to take the winners medal, pictured. His older brother James, 13, entered the U14 tournament at the same venue on Sunday and romped away with a 6-4 6-2 victory to win the event.

On the same day the full Royston mini red squad were also up against Berkhampsted’s team at home in their first summer match with Tom Finch, Ethan Davy, James Holder and Harry Lee winning 9-7. The U18 boys’ team did not fare so well and lost 5-1 away to St Albans.

The blub now has four men’s, three ladies, four mixed, three mini (U10) and three junior teams entered in the 2012 summer leagues. For full details of matches, results, club events and membership log onto the club site at www.roystontennis.co.uk.
