Arlesey 4 Bassingbourn Youth 1
Under-11s Division Two
BASSINGBOURN began brightly at Arlesey and took the lead with a long range shot from James Sharp that ended up in the bottom right hand corner.
Arlesey fought back, equalised and then took the lead with a long range shot the Bassingbourn 'keeper James May could do nothing about.
Sweeper James Ashton thwarted other numerous Arlesey attacks and was ably supported by full backs Cameron MacGillivray and Tom Harrington, while a fine double save by May kept his team in with a chance.
Despite this stout defending Bourn conceded two further goals, and although a late rally saw Jake Keeble hit the bar after a good run down the right Bourn could not find a way back into the game and Arlesey ran out deserved winners.
