Bassingbourn took the lead after a swift break through George French before they extended their advantage through a deft Jonah Stekly header.
Bourn were unlucky not to extend the lead further after the break before they eventually grabbed the third through Josh Thurlby’s calm finish. A late Comets consolation was the only negative before the end.
