Letchworth Golds U12s 3 Bassingbourn U12s 1
Bassingbourn U12s’ recent good league form took a dent with a 3-1 defeat at Letchworth Golds.
The match was played on a boggy pitch against the league leaders and it was the home side who started the better of the two teams and were quickly two goals up.
Bourn slowly got back into the game with Olly Johnson catching the eye in centre midfield. Left winger Michael Hicks demonstrated some good runs and was ably supported by Tom Harrington from left-back.
With Matt Tiffin getting some freedom on the right, Bourn looked dangerous in the second half. However, against the run of play, Letchworth grabbed a third when Bourn failed to clear a dangerous attack. Olly Johnson pulled one back but it was a case of too little too late.
