Bassingbourn U11s put in a great shift to overcome Sawbridgeworth 4-2.
Despite falling behind to an early goal, Bassingbourn kept calm and hit back well with strikes from George French, Jack Durman and an absolute cracker from Fin Burchett to lead 3-1 at half time.
Bassingbourn stepped up a gear after half time as the midfield and forwards really pushed on and another goal from Fin Burchett took the game away from Sawbridgeworth.
Bassingbourn could have added to their lead but couldn’t quite find the all important final pass and, as legs tired, Sawbridgeworth grabbed their second goal but the final score was a fair reflection of the game.
