Bassingbourn U12s 1 Pin Green 3

Bassingbourn U12s succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Pin Green.

The heavy wind was a key feature of the game and contributed to the first two Pin Green goals. Bourn kicked off into the gale and conceded an early goal from a corner which swirled around in the wind before finding its way into the back of the net.

Almost immediately Pin Green doubled their lead in identical fashion. Bourn woke up and began to get a hold of the game. Olly Johnson was prominent down the right wing and Antonio Ercole put in a couple of good runs down the left wing but despite creating a number of half chances Bourn couldn’t find the net.

Bourn turned around 2-0 down and now had the wind behind them. However, Pin Green decided to get virtually their whole team behind the ball to protect their lead. Bourn managed to pull one back when Antonio Ecole calmly drilled in a low shot from the left. Instead of this being the spring board to push on Pin Green took a pot shot at the goal which held up in the wind and drifted over Dylan Lloyd’s head to give them the victory.
