THE BMX National series moved on to Round four at the Mid Lancs Club on Sunday, and as usual it was an action- packed weekend with 300 riders taking part, including 15 of Royston's finest.
Royston Rockets' involvement started with Ted Dalleywater taking second place in the under-six year B final, while in the seven- year class Ethan Vernon raced to first place, with Daniel Blanche fourth, and Aaron Threader close behind in fifth.
In the eight-year class, Aaron Dalleywater made the A final and finished seventh, while in the nine- year class Ethan Lewis finished second in the B final.
There were mixed results in the 11-12 year class with James Handleigh eighth, with team mate Louis Burton failing to qualify from the opening rounds. Antony Taylor also had a variable weekend, with his fifth placed finish in the 13-14 year B final.
In the 19-plus men's class Jonathan Roberts took a deserved fourth in the main final and in the junior female section, Katie Roberts finished third overall.
Lee Alexander returned to masterclass action with a fine third placed finish in the A final, while in the elite section Laurence Mapp secured second place, with Richard Townsend finishing eighth in the B Final.
- The series now moves on to the first of two inter-regional races at Peterborough, where the Rockets will be hoping to add to their points in their regional ranking and further their chances of qualifying for the British Championships in August.
