NIGEL Thomas and Robin Coles and playing partners Josie Seward and Gill Drewery finished first and second in the Johnson Matthey Mixed Draw Cup at Royston golf Club.
Whilst two other pairings finished with 36 points, Nigel and Josie took the spoils thanks to a superior back nine.
Twelve handicapper Wayne Hunt shot a spectacular gross 74, nett 62, to win Division One of the Men's Medal on Sunday, three shots ahead of Mark Pearson. Andrew Greville-Smith took third spot on countback from Richard Howorth.
Howorth had the consolation of winning the scratch prize with a 71, edging out Adam Woods and Paul Thomson.
Adam Dyer was victorious in Division Two, but only on countback from Malcolm Cooper who struggled on the greens. Third was Alf Sheehan, while Martin Walker was fourth.
Jim Hopkins was the toast of the seniors on Friday as he took the Veterans Centenary Trophy with 41 points, ahead of past captain Roy Ward.
Tony Blatchford played the round of his career on Wednesday, securing the Midweek Golfers Stableford with an incredible 44 points. The 19-handicapper puts it down to a new driver. John Fyson and Roy Ward both returned 39 points.
Nine-year-old Lyle Clark won the Junior Medal on Saturday and reduced his handicap by nine. He will now be playing from the men's tees.
Robbie Ponting finished second and Robert Brain third.
This Saturday sees over 200 members compete in Captain's Day, when club captain Colin Swallow will be the host with a vast array of prizes for all the members.
