HARES under-sevens entertained Hitchin Town, who ran out 3-0 winners despite a battling team performance from Hormead.

Sheldon Best came close for Hormead, but it was the Hitchin strikers who made the difference with two strikes before the break.

Despite strong defending from Chrissy Georgiou, Ethan Warman and man-of-the-match Eliot Gilbertson, Hitchin pounced again in the second half to put the visitors three up.

In match two, a changed line-up took to the field, and within five minutes Jack Richardson scored a great goal from the edge of the Hitchin box.

Angus Brierley and Conor Fryday maintained their defensive line, while man-of-the-match Harry Coles turned in a good debut performance. In the second-half, Town pressed for an equaliser, but Hormead were equal to the Hitchin attack, and held on to their lead until the final whistle.

The under-12s produced their best performance of the season, with a 2-0 win over Potton Colts Whites.

Lewis Green's through ball found George Congrave on the left hand side of the penalty, and he in turn dispatched a superb curling shot into the top left corner for Hares' first.

In the second-half Hormead hassled Potton and forced a well-worked corner.

Jack Penney's excellent cross was then met perfectly by Nathan Sims, who powered home a fine header to seal a deserved victory.

Hares under-13s hosted Stevenage Borough, with both sides battling well throughout the firsthalf.

After the interval Hormead raised the tempo and netted their first from a superb flighted Sammy Radley free-kick, which was met at the back post by Luke Cox.

Cox then turned provider, setting up James Kaye with another fine header.

Hares then wrapped up the game when Cox latched on to a through ball and rounded the keeper to slot home number three.

The under-15 girls reached the league cup final with a 10-0 victory over St Neots.

Goals came courtesy of a Yasmin Pratt hat-trick, two each from Katie Grehan and Flo Gamby, and an Amy Maher strike.
