BUNTINGFORD just missed out on promotion after their first venture into Division Three of the Hertfordshire Major League.

The squad finished fourth in the table after coming second in the opening two rounds.

Josh Davies, Josh Yarrien and Sophie Robinson secured wins as Buntingford again impressed in the third and final round of the winter competition on Saturday.

Head coach Alan Bowell says his youngsters' displays have more than justified the club's decision to enter the league for the first time.

"Next year they all be that bit more experienced and we'll have a good chance of promotion to division two," he said. "They've done really well."

- Royston finished in a mid-table spot but ended the season on a high with second spot in their final gala. Ben Batchelor, Madison Lambley, Emma Reeves, Alex Snowden, Karen Pateman, Eleanor Nottage, Mitchell Smith and Samantha Shaw picked up individual wins.
