TWO goals from Evan Goldman helped Bassingbourn under-11s defeat their nearest rivals Elsenham to go four points clear at the top of Division 4.

The home team put in an good performance against a well organised Elsenham team and took the lead when Goldman finished well following an excellent passing move.

A lapse of concentration allowed the visitors to equaliser just before half-time, but Goldman restored the lead in the second half when he latched onto Jacob Stekly's through ball to slot home.

With Charlie Colling and Aytan Sarisoy strong in defence it was Ben Blower who finished the game off when he raced through to score late on.

Melbourn Dynamos Panthers were unlucky not to get anything from their exciting end-to-end encounter against Rising Stars.

Despite good link play between George Storey and Tommy Hollway, the home team couldn't find a goal in the first half and went into the break 1-0 down.

Both teams had good chances in the second half, with Connor Patel making some outstanding saves in the Melbourn goal, but even he couldn't stop the Stars from going 2-0 up.

Melbourn refused to give up and finally got their reward when Storey turned the Stars' defence inside out to fire home, but the Stars scored a third to finish the match 3-1 winners.

A goal in each half from Max Logan and Mickey Baulk gave Royston A's under-nines a 2-0 win against St Neots Sky Blues.

Solid defensive work by Jamie Penn and Jamie Copeland was built on by the non-stop running of Callum Toovey in midfield, allowing the attacking moves of Lewis Anderson and Keiran Blois to flow.

Logan and Baulk added the finishing touches.

Royston B under-nines ground out a good 2-0 victory against St Neots Dark Blues with another resilient display.

A goalless first half was followed by a brilliantly taken goal by Matthew Bailey in the second when he spun and struck the ball home well.

A second Royston goal with a minute to go ensured Royston kept their unbeaten run in the league going.

Royston Celtic narrowly missed out on getting a draw away to Manuden, losing the game 3-2.

Despite cancelling out an eight minute Manuden goal after 18 minutes, Royston shipped another goal just before half time.

A third Manuden goal in the second half put the home team too far ahead, and despite Royston scoring a second goal it was not enough to stop their opponents getting all three points.

Following on from a superb 10 - 2 win last week, Hormead Hares under-14s girls team marched on with an impressive performance against Bottisham.

Some superb build up and play and exquisite finishing saw the Hares come out worthy winners 11 - 1, with goals from Becky Turner (4), Daisy Holmes (2), Megan Gilligan (2) Tara Keswick, Abbie Bird and the first for the club from May Davis.

The Hares' under-15s continued their ruthless march through Division 3 with a 6-1 drubbing of Nazeing Youth to remain the only team with a 100 per cent record in the league.

Joe Pemberton netted four times and Adebayo bagged a brace for the Hares.

Man of the match Rufus Pratt was instrumental in four of the goals whilst the remainder of the ranks stood firm in defence and drove forward in attack contributing equally to a comfortable Hares' victory.

Despite losing 12-0 to Baldock under-12s, Hormead Hares showed good spirit and created six chances of their own only to find the opposing 'keeper in outstanding form.

Good displays from George Spackman, Hugh Wrigley and Danny Elford didn't go unnoticed and gave the Hares some positives to take from the game.
