Bassingbourn Youth 2
Symonds Green 0
TRAVELLING with just 11 squad members, Bassingbourn brought home another three points from their trip to Stevenage with a patient display.
With Symonds Green relying on long passes over the top, Bassingbourn's defense needed to be on good form.
The back four were untroubled, however, with Harry Vines especially on top form.
Luke Barrett took charge in the middle and won the man-of-the-match award for his safe play, launching many Bassingbourn attacks from deep in his own half.
Bassingbourn's patience was rewarded in the second half when Tom Needham outran the Symonds Green defence to slot the ball home.
With Bassingbourn's midfield starting to control the middle of the park, further attacks followed from good work by Ned Kelly and Ben Blower on the left and Jacob Stekly on the right.
The result was put beyond doubt when a defensive error left Needham one-on-with with Symonds Green's 'keeper, and the striker duly slotted home from close range.
