Bassingbourn too strong for bottom side Stotfold

Bassingbourn U11s beat bottom of the table Stotfold Juniors 10-1 in a convincing performance.

Stotfold battled hard but they were under real pressure throughout the game and only some heroic saves from their ‘keeper prevented Bassingbourn from scoring even more.

Andy Jones kicked off the scoring with a crisp volley while Fin Burchett scored two cracking goals before a George French strike and an own goal gave Bourn a 5-0 half-time lead.

In the second half Bourn hit double figures with further goals from Josh Haigh (2), French (2) and Charlie Alsop and, although Stotfold hit back with a goal of their own, Bassingbourn ran out deserved winners.
