Bassingbourn U12s drew 4-4 with Stevenage Vikings in what was an exciting match from start to finish.

Bassingbourn started brightly and nearly got an early goal. Stevenage soon went into the lead before a determined run by Max Logan through the middle saw him hold off two defenders and fire in a deserved equaliser.

Defensive lapses saw Vikings retake the lead before Logan bagged his second with another run through the middle and powerful shot into the back of the net.

A fine run down the left and left-footed shot into the top corner by Matt Tiffin saw Bourn take the lead for the first time.

However, defensive frailties let Vikings back into the game. Bourn again took the lead as Michael Hicks broke threw the middle. The ‘keeper saved his first shot but he remained calm and buried the rebound. A hopeful punt downfield led to a mix-up in the Bourn defence and allowed Stevenage to grab the equaliser.
