Bishop’s Stortford U12s 4 Bassingbourn U12s 1
Bassingbourn U12s crashed to a 4-1 defeat away at Bishop’s Stortford Swifts.
The pacey Swifts forwards lived up to their name and caused numerous problems with their speed and their direct play led to two early goals. It could have been more but for fine goalkeeping from John Dix and a goal-line clearance from Cameron MacGillivray.
Bourn began the second half more brightly with Olly Johnson being prominent in midfield. Michael Hicks lobbed the Swifts ‘keeper with a long-range shot which to get Bourn back into the game. However, Bourn allowed Swifts to restore their two-goal advantage before adding a fourth with a well worked move and fine shot.
