Peterborough Utd U11 Girls 1 - 1 Bassingbourn Youth Girls
BASSINGBOURN travelled to Peterborough for an eagerly awaited top of the table clash between two teams that have only lost one match each this season.
The visitors started brightly and the Posh goalkeeper saved bravely at Dani's feet to deny a goal scoring chance.
Both teams looked dangerous when they had the ball but both defended strongly when necessary.
Posh gradually came into the game and following a series of corners, they broke the deadlock.
After a strong start the Bassingbourn Girls were disappointed to go in at half time 1-0 down.
Renewed by the break the Bass girls started strongly again.
Sophie went close with several strikes and Izzy H also got into good positions but couldn't find the net.
It wasn't all one way traffic, though, and the Posh girls looked dangerous when they had the ball.
Finally Dani broke free following a long throw from Saffron and put the ball past the keeper to equalise.
Both teams continued to press for a winner but the game ended all square.
All the girls should be proud to have taken part in an excellent game of football, with a lot of skill and endeavour shown by both sides.
The teams meet again on 1st May in Cambs FA Cup Final which should be an exciting encounter.
