JUNIOR captain Matthew Barrett won the junior medal event at Royston Golf Club on Saturday.

Barrett scored a net of 70 from his nine handicap, and won two shots clear from a group of four golfers including Tom Staley and Adam Wright.

On Sunday morning around 80 brave souls set forth in dreadful conditions in a doubles event.

The event was eventually won by Chris Little and Stewart Hart with 43 points.

Jason Nolan and Stuart Hunt were a shot behind in second place, and Mark Rogers and Robin Coles trailed in third with 41 points.
