BARKWAY Park Golf Club Seniors clinched the CAGU Friendly League Knock-out Trophy in a closely-fought final over two home and away legs against Meridian Golf Club Seniors recently.

BARKWAY Park Golf Club Seniors clinched the CAGU Friendly League Knock-out Trophy in a closely-fought final over two home and away legs against Meridian Golf Club Seniors recently.

Barkway were 2-1 victors in their home leg but succumbed to Meridian by the same margin at Meridian. Barkway were declared victors by virtue of winning more holes over the two legs.

Barkway’s Seniors also won the CAGU Friendly League (South Division) which was played over the summer. They now have to play North Division champions, Cromwell GC, in a single leg final to decide the overall league champions.

Barkway Mens’ Monthly Medal was won last weekend by Matt Maciejewski with a net score of 71, followed by Rob Dunderdale (72) and Simon Hughes (74) in second and third respectively. Terry Akers, Peter Hanson and Trevor Scott-Hibbert took the first three places in the Division Two competition.

Derek Graves won the midweek Seniors Barker Bowl stableford competition with a stunning 39 points in very windy conditions. He was six points clear of his nearest rival Keith Burroughes on 33 points.
