FOOTBALL: Banyers started their pre-season friendly fixtures this week with the newly formed reserve team taking on the first team.

Having won promotion to Division 2B last season it looks set to be another promising year for the first team, and with the reserves set to start life in Division 4 it could be a good year all round.

And it was new signing Dave Crowley that made the early difference for the first team, with his strike breaking the deadlock. Last season's leading goal scorer Asher Wilson smashed a second as the reserves ended the half trailing 2-0.

Midfielder Dave Osborne then fired home a third as the first team ran out comfortable winners.

Banyers are currently on the look out for new players, with training taking place at Eternit Sports Ground on Thursday evenings from 7pm.
