An excellent bowling display helped Baldock get back to winning ways with a convincing victory over Old Haberdashers on Saturday.

Having won the toss and electing to field, Baldock's opening bowlers Alistair Jones and Logan Newman gave very little away in the first few overs.

The pressure eventually told and once the first batsman had been dismissed further wickets tumbled quickly to leave Old Haberdashers on 40-6.

Despite some determined resistance from their skipper Gelber, the visitors could muster only a total 65 all out from 22 overs.

Jones bowled excellently to finish with 4-22 off 21 overs, while Newman (3-17) and Dean (2-19) both posted decent figures.

Despite losing an early wicket, 35 not out from Rob Cant saw Baldock home inside 22 overs.

Andy Payne was also impressive with the bat, scoring 18 before falling to a harsh lbw decision.

Baldock will be in confident mood when they travel to Cheshunt this week.

Baldock seconds' match with Parkfield on Saturday ended in a draw.

Five wickets from captain Phil Lucy did little to stop the flow of runs for Parkfield, who scored 195 all out.

Young bowler Jake Mongston picked up his first league wicket.

Baldock never looked likely to reach their target, and were nine wickets down when the match ended in a draw. James Diplock was the pick of the batsmen with a knock of 35.

Despite a promising start, Baldock's Sunday team lost to Hatfield by five wickets.

After 17 overs Baldock were 71-2, thanks to good work from Logan Newman (37) and Nick Blenkin (33).

But once these two departed, an all- too-familiar batting collapse saw them limp to a total of 114 all out.

Simon Goodlad added 21 at the death.

Hatfield scored quickly to reach 40-3 off six overs, and after a break for rain they eased home, finishing on 115-5 off 22.5 overs.

Graham Letford claimed three wickets for 39 runs.
