ROYSTON Town's mini-revival came to an end after a week which saw them exit two cup competitions and suffer a league battering at Ruislip Manor.

After picking up a pair of league wins and progressing in the South Midlands Floodlight Cup, the Crows have let in 15 goals in their last three games.

The poor run of results was capped on Tuesday evening as they lost 6-0 at St Albans City in the Herts Senior Cup.

Simon Martin opened the scoring for the Saints, and in a half where the home team gained seven corners to Royston's none, they doubled their advantage through Lee Clarke shortly before the break.

With Lee Rogers forced out of the action after being elbowed just above the eye, an injury that is likely to keep him out of action for a week, the Crows struggled against a pacy Saints side after the break.

Martin made it 3-0 in the 58th minute despite a fine initial save from Chris Chambers, and Matthew Hann soon made it 4-0 after dispossessing skipper Stuart Snowden.

A trip in the box from Alan Reid gave Martin his hat-trick in the 70th minute.

After boss Phil Snowden had used all his substitutes, Jason Nash limped off with an injury, and with the Crows forced to play the final 15 minutes with 10 men, Chris Haslam wrapped up the scoring in the dying minutes.

- Mickey Swaysland continued his good goalscoring run against the Crows as they were hammered 6-1 at Ruislip on Saturday.

Having netted both goals in Manor's 2-0 FA Vase victory at Garden Walk in September, the veteran striker hit four in Saturday's romp.

Swaysland gave his side the lead in the second minute after a mistake by stand-in keeper Sam Booth.

And by the 31st minute he had completed his hat-trick to effectively wrap things up for the home side.

Ryan Cannon gave the visitors hope shortly before the break, when he converted from close range after a flick from Laurence Revell.

But within a minute Manor had restored their lead with a strike from Anthony Page.

A mistake from Revell led to Swaysland making it 5-1 in the 68th minute, before the Royston centre half completed a miserable day with a spectacular last- minute own goal.

- Last Wednesday saw the Crows go out of the Premier Division Cup at the first hurdle, as Oxhey Jets gained quick revenge for their league defeat at Garden Walk by reversing the scoreline, and winning 3-1.

A gas leak in the Watford area led to a 20- minute delay in the kick off, and the game was reduced to 40 minutes each way to allow for extra time, if necessary.

Having arrived at the ground only 10 minutes before they kicked off, the Crows started slowly, and Tim O'Mara gave Jets a 1-0 half-time lead with a 33rd minute goal.

Peter Chappell levelled the score shortly after the break with a well worked free-kick, but Jets regained the lead on the hour mark, when Jamie Arthur took advantage of the linesman's reluctance to raise his flag to fire home from a seemingly offside position.

The Crows' exit was assured five minutes later when Wayne Gaddy converted, after home skipper Chris Harding had missed a penalty.

- Royston return to Garden Walk on Saturday (November 4) when Biggleswade United are the visitors, kick off 3pm.
