BOSS Paul Attfield hailed his Buntingford team as they produced a stunning display to defeat runaway Herts County League leaders Whitewebbs on Saturday. "This was a tremendous result and performance from the players," he said. "It's possible that Whitewebbs had a off-day, but we took advantage of that, played the conditions excellently, and fully deserved to win. "The foundations have been built on a recent good run of results, excellent individual performances, and a tremendous collective work rate. "Based on the clear chances created in this game, we were perhaps unfortunate not to score more goals. "From a defensive point of view I thought we were quite outstanding and the growing maturity of all the younger players gives me great optimism." Carl Smith was the two-goal hero as Town moved up to ninth spot in the Premier Division against a side who started the day 19 points clear at the top of the table. Town will need to maintain the form they showed in Enfield when they host second placed Bedmond Sports & Social at The Bury on Saturday, kick off 2pm. The win at Whitewebbs completed a near-perfect weekend for Buntingford, with only the reserves' loss at home at Hatfield preventing a clean sweep for their five senior teams.
