Cycle Club Ashwell’s Cyclo-Cross racers made the journey into Norfolk for round 12 of the Eastern Cyclo-Cross League on Sunday.

The penultimate round of 2013 took place at Broome Heath near Bungay, and offered up a highly demanding and challenging course to test the regions best riders.

CC Ashwell was, as usual, well represented and well rewarded with some fantastic results across the board. Theo Doncaster placed a superb sixth in the seniors’ race, also making him the highest placed Junior. In the women’s/veterans’ race, Jackie Field put in another strong performance to claim second Woman and first lady vet. Mark Lightfoot’s string of top results so far this year was only reinforced in the U10s reace as he pedalled home for second place, only two seconds behind the winner.
