ASHER Wilson's goal lifted Banyers off the foot of Division 3B, and condemned Ashwell Reserves to bottom spot.
Two points behind their hosts before kick-off, Banyers sensed victory, with player manager and former Ashwell player Darren Dyer raising his side's spirits.
And their efforts were soon rewarded when youngster Asher Wilson combined with fellow striker Sipho Tibe to score a well-worked goal and open the scoring.
Ashwell responded well, but Banyers' midfield duo of Dave Ratcliffe and James Oddy began to dominate the middle of the park.

The hosts continued to push forward in the second half in search of an equaliser, but found Banyers keeper Adrian Pigg in fine form.
And thanks to some resolute defending, Banyers did enough to hold on for the win, and claimed a much-needed three points.
