Greneway Middle School’s Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 athletics teams have enjoyed another incredibly successful season.
In the 2014/15 school year, they added the North Herts Schools’ Championships (Year 7 girls, Year 7 team, Year 8 team), North Herts Schools’ League (Year 7 combined team, Year 7 girls, Year 7 boys team, Year 8 girls, Year 8 combined team, boys combined (in partnership with Meridian School), girls combined (in partnership with Meridian School), boys and girls combined (in partnership with Meridian School)), North East Herts Schools’ Year 7 and 8 Sportshall athletics champions), Herts Schools’ Year 8 Sportshall athletics team champions and North East Herts Schools’ Year 5/6 Sportshall athletics champions, to their already impressive collection.
In addition, there was a hat-trick of high jump school records for Daisy Needham (Year 8 girls - 1.49m), Jack Beber (Year 6 boys - 1.38m) and Rory Rees and Sam Lynn (Year 5 boys - 1.33m).
Flyn Lanham lowered the Year 8 boys’ 100m mark twice to end the year with the record at 11.62.
Sam Lynn also registered two more track records in Year 5 boys’ 150m and 600m.
