CHRIS Rule caught five carp as he won the opening Royston and District Angling Club Evening League match at Thriplow Reservoir, on Friday.
Experienced angler Rule finished first with a catch of 16 lbs 3.5 oz, comfortably ahead of 12-year-old runner-up Ryan Jarvis who caught a 9lb 2oz ghost carp in his total of 9llb 5oz.
Brian Newman was third with 9lb 3.5oz of carp, while fourth place was taken by Ralph Currie with 4lb 3oz of silver fish.
The next match to take place at this venue will be the first President's Cup Match, which will be on Sunday with the draw at 9am, and fishing between 10am-4pm.
