Libby Toby won the October Ladies Medal at Royston Golf Club.
A poor opening hole was followed by a steady stream of pars and bogeys on the outward nine from the 22 handicapper.
It all looked in vain when she took two double bogeys and two treble bogeys over the first five holes of the back nine, but she held her nerve to record a nett round of 72.
Her nearest competitor, Sandra Williams also played the front nine well, but took seven on the par three 10th hole.
She did however play the last few holes in level par to finish with a nett 74 from her 15 handicap.
- The Ladies Alternate Medal played in bright but windy conditions on Saturday, resulted in a win for Joan Smith, who had an up-and-down round, and would have won convincingly, had she not taken one eight and two nines at the three par fives.
