ROYSTON bounced back from last week's loss at St Neots to hammer Stevenage on Saturday.
After that defeat in Cambridgeshire, Royston came out determined to win this one and they certainly did that.
They started strongly from the start and a lovely run from Kirsty Penfold who passed it into Heather Polge to score within the first five minutes.
Penfold then made a superb run from the half way line round several players to score a fantastic solo goal.
She then went to score two more in short succession. Heather Polge, not to be outdone, then scored the next two goals and Royston were 6-0 at half-time.
The second half saw Royston start off strongly again and Gemma Hoad had several attempts at goal and was unlucky not to convert these into goals.
Tash Greenstein then made a lovely run at goal and scored Royston's seventh.
Penfold then made another fine run and crossed the ball in for Lisa Thompson to blast the ball into back of the Stevenage net.
Royston came back again and Lisa Thompson's shot at goal was tapped in by Gemma Luckman.
Royston needed this boost as they have a tough league game next week against Blueharts who are top of the table.
