Royston Rockets BMX Club had a special guest pay them a visit to pass on some of the tricks of the trade - GB number one Quillan Isidore.

The 26-year-old has won many accolades to his name from years of BMX racing with GB and others, including the U16 World Championship in 2012.

Most of the riders at the session were trackside watching and cheering Quillan as he won the podium spot in August at this year's British Championships.

A spokeswoman for the Burns Road-based club said: "It was a great experience for our riders to meet someone they admire and to learn from Quillan’s years of knowledge and experience riding tracks all over the world.

"Quillan offered a mixed session covering all aspects of BMX racing, adjusting the session to suit all our rider’s abilities.

"The riders particularly enjoyed working on riding closely together, or elbow to elbow. It is one of the most challenging parts of the sport especially as riders get faster and faster.

"While our younger riders found this fun, the older riders saw it as a challenge to ride as closely as possible which they did brilliantly.

"There was a great buzz around the track once they had finished and you could see the confidence building in the riders from spending time with Quillan.

"The riders were keen to get photos and autographs and Quillan generously spent time with each rider.

"We were so pleased to be able to offer this experience to our riders."
