Melbourn Bowls Club wrapped up their 2006 programme when 32 members arrived to be drawn into pairs for the anniversary competition which started in 2002. Each pair played four games of six ends each in two groups. Competition was as fierce but friendly as ever, only two teams failing to score any points.
The first division was won by Dennis Wooding and Peter Dodds who began with a draw and went on to win the other three games with a shot difference of +8.
The second division winners, Jacqui Dodds and Keith Howard, won all three games, scoring a +10 shots.
The final friendly of the season was played on Sunday when Barton BC were the visitors.
Melbourn members are very good hosts, except when they are on the green.
True to form they did their best to deny the visitors victory, eventually running out 85-42 winners.
