MELBOURN crashed out of the Junior Challenge Cup on Saturday in an entertaining 10 goal thriller.
A first-minute mistake let in Comberton, but Melbourn were back on level terms through Andrew Morris, only for the visitors to regain the lead.
James Hill's determination paid off when he levelled again, only for Comberton to hit three in five minutes before the break.
Michael Wagstaff pulled one back with a fine 30-yard effort, and debutant Guy Reynolds made it 5-4 with a well-taken effort to set up a frantic final 10 minutes.
But then, after he had made an excellent save, the ball ricocheted off keeper Mick Walker's legs into the path of a Comberton striker, who bagged their sixth.
