CAMBRIDGE UNITED face a fixture pile-up after their FA Trophy second round match with Histon was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

The tie at the Glassworld Stadium was re-arranged for last night (Wednesday), meaning United's league match against Droylsden has been set for next Tuesday.

However, any replay of the Histon match would take place on January 22, meaning the Droyslden match would need to be rescheduled for a third time.

If United progress in the Trophy, they will meet Burton Albion in the third round.

With home games against struggling teams, including Droylsden and Altrincham, coming up, United will be looking to get their promotion challenge back on track.

However, Jimmy Quinn has so far been left frustrated in his attempts to strengthen his squad.

Millwall striker Chris Zebroski turned down a move to the Abbey Stadium after the clubs agreed a fee, but Quinn feels he may have more success as the transfer window draws to a close.

He said: "We're pursuing one or two players and we'll have to wait and see. I think the nearer it gets to the end of the window the more likely it is that we'll see the moves happening. At the moment the clubs are holding firm and trying to get the best money they can."

Supporters trust Cambridge Fans United hold their annual meeting at the supporters club next Monday.

Non-members are welcome to attend but will not be able to take part in voting. The meeting begins at 7.30pm.

This Saturday United travel to Essex to face Grays Athletic. Justin Edinburgh's side are currently languishing in 17th place in the Blue Square Premier table, but will provide tricky opposition, having beaten Aldershot and Forest Green Rovers in recent weeks.
