GREAT Chishill made a winning start to life in CCA Senior League cricket as they came out on top in a close match with Cambridge Granta thirds in Division Three.
Batting first Granta made 198-7, but perhaps should have reached a bigger total, as Ollie Stoop (3-45) and Gary Wright (2-12) restricting the visitors to less than 200.
Chishill were also indebted to a third-wicket partnership of 88 between the experienced Kirk Chilton (54) and Simon Coxall (45).
However, it was Mike Harris' play that eventually saw off Granta with his hard-hitting 28 securing a three-wicket win for Chishill.
