ROYSTON boxer Billy Crotty will take on World Senior Lightweight Champion and Olympian Frankie Gavin tonight (Thursday).
The 26-year-old is set to step into the ring with one of the country's most highly-rated boxers at Gavin's home venue in Hall Green, Birmingham. It will be Gavin's last amateur bout, as he is set to turn professional after the Beijing Olympics.
Crotty's coach Dave Blows said: "Billy can learn a lot from this contest and he is relishing the opportunity to share the ring with Britain's first World Senior Amateur Champion."
Elsewhere, Billy's younger brother George, has been selected for the Great Britain Schoolboy training camp in Liverpool.
The 15-year-old is also set to represent England at the forthcoming European Schoolboy Championships which will be held in Serbia.
