DEBUTANT leg-spinner Robert Craze belied his tender years to help get Thriplow back on the winning trail at Cambridge St Giles on Saturday.
Craze, 13, took 4-34 from his ten overs to take the sting out of the home side's run chase after Thriplow had earlier posted a challenging 256-9 from their 45 overs.
Winning the toss, Thriplow captain Chris Neild elected to bat first and his decision was justified as Duncan Walker made a solid 73.
But the innings belonged to opener Paul Staley, who smashed 14 fours and six sixes for a superb 111 from just 16 overs.
St Giles' reply got off to a terrible start as batsman Salmon played Chris Viner on for a duck and only Hill (52) and Sagoo (32) kept the home side in with a faint shout of victory.
But after spinner Dickon Taylor snared both Hill and Sagoo, the run chase came to an end, with St Giles closing their innings on 211-7, to give Thriplow a 45-run victory.
