ROYSTON Town leapfrogged Bedford Reserves to go second in Division One following a convincing 3-1 win at Garden Walk.
The Crows looked every bit promotion contenders against a poor Bedford team, and went 1-0 up after just two minutes thanks to an own goal.
Ross Collins sent a long ball in to the opposition's box from the left and a Bedford defender flicked the ball on, only to see it beat his own 'keeper and drop into the goal.
Two goals from Tom Malins, one on 17 minutes and a second on 48, put the visitors 3-0 up, and only a penalty awarded for a foul by Jamie Babbage on Bedford's number nine allowed the visitors to register a goal.
Manager Paul Attfield said: "When you're playing a team that are second and they haven't actually created anything from open play over 90 minutes, that's fair credit to our lads. They defended really well.
