ROYSTON Golf Club has handed out prizes at its annual junior prizegiving event.
All the cups and trophies won during the golfing year were formally presented to the various winners, with some of the trophies dating back from the early days of the club which founded in 1892.
Tom Trimble, who will be the junior vice-captain in 2009, won the junior championship and Stewart Phillips, who plays off a plus three handicap, won the club championship.
Lauren Hunt, aged 15 at the time of her success, was handed her trophy after she became the youngest ever winner of the ladies' championship.
Other top performers during the season included Mark Rogers who won three pairs titles and two singles events.
Meanwhile, Royston Golf Club has beaten Cambridge University Outlaws by five-and-a-half games to two-and-a-half in what is the oldest golf fixture for both clubs.
Royston won the first four matches of the foursomes round by three-and-a-half points to Cambridge's half, and both teams shared the two afternoon games.
