Dug pit lower. Another attack expected. One of each detachment had to keep up each night.

Firing, no sleep. Shelled heavy for five hours.

- April 25, 1918.

Building new wall to pit. Shelled heavy and Major Clark killed, Bombardier Ball wounded. Major Clark died while carrying him to aid post.

Medical officer took shelter with us in trench. Shelled heavy at the time.

Plane low over battery, thought we were in for it.
