High time for final call on airline policy

A BRITISH Airways worker lost her fight this week to visibly wear a cross necklace to work.

But at BA the wearing of other visible religious symbols, for example, the hijab by Muslims, and the turban by Sikhs, is permitted.

So surely this is discriminating against Christians.

If BA is permitting staff to wear turbans and hijabs, then surely it can allow an employee to openly wear a cross.

They say it is a question of 'practicality'.

But I wonder what BA would have said if the worker had chosen to wear a diamante on a chain instead?

For years people have freely worn crosses. It's a tradition, so why change things now?

The cross is going to make no difference to the woman's ability to carry out her duties.

And I'm sure it's going to make no difference to her customers.

It is absolutely ridiculous.

At the end of the day employees should be treated equally, and all should have the right to follow their own beliefs.
