THE proposal to run a lottery to raise funds towards grants for recreational activities has been adopted by North Herts District Council – and tickets will be on sale in September. Proceeds from the lottery will be used to establish a fund for assistance

THE proposal to run a lottery to raise funds towards grants for recreational activities has been adopted by North Herts District Council - and tickets will be on sale in September.

Proceeds from the lottery will be used to establish a fund for "assistance to community voluntary organisations and recreational bodies".

In a statement, the council said the public "may well relish in the opportunity of contributing directly to such a worthwhile fund".
