AT the Royston Board of Guardians meeting, the House Committee recommended that for Coronation Day the inmates of the workhouse should have a special diet for breakfast and dinner, one pint of beer for each adult and one ounce of tobacco for the smokers,

AT the Royston Board of Guardians' meeting, the House Committee recommended that for Coronation Day the inmates of the workhouse should have a special diet for breakfast and dinner, one pint of beer for each adult and one ounce of tobacco for the smokers, the children to be taken to the festivities on the heath and the adults allowed out from 3pm to 6pm.
