I PASS and enjoy the sight of the Tesco roundabout in Royston every day. It would be a great shame if the flower beds were "dug up or left to die".

I noticed today that adjacent to the roundabout there are three large advertising posters.

It might be worth you asking whether these flyers have planning permission. I doubt if they have, though they are many times bigger than the modest plaques on the roundabout.

I note the council has been vigorous in chasing up the unplanned adverts for the Bassingbourn Boot Fair, resulting in a recent conviction.

Why then does it allow a large mobile hoarding on the back of a lorry advertising new houses at Duxford to occupy the side of the road at the junction of the A505 and the A10.

These examples are in far greater need of the planning process than the insignificant plaques at the roundabouts.
