Can someone from the council please answer why the pavements in Royston are so treacherous?

I live between Royston and Therfield, and as I had been unable to get on to the main road on Monday, I decided to walk the three-mile journey to work.

Walking was safe until I hit the outskirts of Royston at the fire station, and after that it was all downhill.

The pavements were lethal, and after several near misses, I came a cropper on North Road.

I might add that I had walking boots on, so should have been perfectly safe, but even they can't handle solid ice!

Why is the council so useless at keeping the pavements safe?

After all, we pay enough Council Tax.

Does it have to wait for pedestrians to break bones before it does something about the pavements?

Maybe if it hadn't wasted so much money on the so-called improvements in Baldock, there would have been enough money in the kitty for salt.
