I served with the 1/3 East Anglian Regiment in Malaya near the end of the emergency and we are desperately trying to find members of the Regiment who served with us between 1959/60.

Fifty years ago, the new colours were presented to the Regiment by the Queen Mother, and a reunion is to be held at The Royal Anglian Museum at Duxford exactly 50 years to the day, Sunday May 31.

There is an excellent website for the veterans of the Regiment, including officers, non commissioned officers and the men, who served in Malaya at that time.

We have about 40 members at the moment and as we are mostly retired gentlemen we have great fun talking to each other in cyberspace.

Unfortunately, not everyone is computer literate and there are men out there who are missing out on an opportunity to talk to old mates about their experiences and have a laugh.

I am sure if their children and grandchildren knew they would only be too willing to help them keep in touch if only to find out what granddad did when he was young. Mine certainly did.

The address for anyone who would like to get in touch is Richard Faulkner, 25 Green Gates Home Park, Weeley Road, Little Clacton, Essex, C019 9EW. 01255 861463. The website is www.freewebs.com/eastangliavetsgroup

Many thanks.
