Zoe Andrews and Clive Crisford will begin their new roles in September.

Assistant head Zoe comes from Cottenham Academy where she held the same position.

Clive said: “I was so impressed with the quality of teaching and support that Meridian offers its sixth form students and I am very much looking forward to becoming part of such a great team in September.”

Deputy head Kim Horner said: “We look forward to working with our new colleagues.”

Pending a permanent appointment to replace Dr Firth, who is retiring after 37 years at the school, Kim becomes acting headteacher and David Atkins will serve as acting deputy head.

A farewell party has been arranged for Dr Firth between 5.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, July 16, and the school is encouraging any past pupils and parents to join them in celebrating his retirement.

Dr Firth previously told the Crow: “I’ve worked in Royston for 37 wonderful years with outstanding colleagues and literally thousands of students who are a great credit to their parents and the town.

“I am very proud of what we have achieved and know that the school and academy trust will go forward from strength to strength.”
