The few weeks before Christmas are a time of great excitement for children, with parties, concerts and festive plays to look forward to and the anticipation of opening presents on the big day.

Most will be with family but there are those, from babies to young people up to the age of 18, living with life-threatening conditions who will be under the care of East Anglian Children’s Hospices, which operates in Cambridgeshire as well as Suffolk and Norfolk.

The charity’s holistic and family-centred approach to care ensures that the needs of children, young people and their families – whether physical, emotional, social or spiritual – are met at Christmas and throughout the year.

A team of volunteers is at the heart of EACH and more lovely people are needed to help them in their work.

They welcome people from all walks of life and backgrounds and have a variety of opportunities available at the moment.

What about volunteering as a hospice volunteer, welcoming children and young people into the hospice and carrying out light domestic duties?

You could also be a facilities administrative volunteer providing vital admin support.

Or why not join the team of volunteers who raise funds locally by supporting EACH initiatives, or by helping out with annual events such as Santa Runs and gala days?

It’s a great way to meet new people and learn new skills and your commitment can be fitted around your availability, so get in touch to find out more.
